Ion heater STAFOR installation in small circuit

Ion heating boiler can be installed in small circuit to avoid filling complete heating system with heat carrier STATERM EKO E40. This can be needed if ion boiler must be installed on old heating system where heat carrier leakage is possible or brand new heating system with large volume, etc.

In such connections there is essential condition - appropriate small (primary) circuit volume must be ensured. To ensure neccessary volume any kind of tank can be used. We recommend to use STAFOR buffer tank. If minimal primary circuit volume cannot be ensured with only one tank, two or more can be used.

Minimal heat carrier (coolant) volume in primary circuit is necessary due to few reasons. First of them is very high speed of liquid heating in ion heater, usually it takes only few seconds and there is too less of time to transfer heat thru coil or plate heat exchanger and as result heat carrier boils up. Second reason - primary circuit must have some heat inertia and time for heat carrier to restore its properties. This time is needed because heating in ion boiler happens due to heat carriers (coolant) properties and they are affected during this process.

Recommended connection schema for small (primary) circuits and its minimal volume for each ion boiler model, depending on boiler power showed in file.
